🤖 Leverage ChatGPT to level up your resume & more

Last week, we discussed immediately actionable ways to highlight your impact (very important if you want to stand out in your resume, promotion packet, and more).

I received a lot of follow-up questions.

Thus — this week, I’m sharing a (free) tool that you can immediately use to identify and highlight the impact of your previous projects. No more excuses like ‘I don’t know how to talk about my previous project’s impact!’ 😊

Follow the 5 steps below:

• Step 1 — go to chatgpt.com.

• Step 2 — enter the following prompt:

  You are an expert resume writer with 25 years of experience. Here’s a bullet point I have in my resume. No action needed for now, if you understand please respond with “Okay”. Here’s my bullet point:

• Step 3 — enter the bullet point you need help with (e.g., from your resume).

  For example — “Launched an automation tool to assist in data pulls for the Product Operations team”

**Note: if ChatGPT acts weird, try combining step 2 & 3 (into one single prompt).

• Step 4 — now, enter the final prompt:

  I don’t know how my success was measured. Please give me suggestions where and how I can add quantifiable and measurable metrics in this bullet point.

• Step 5 — watch ChatGPT work its magic…..🤯🤯🤯

The above works with more ‘basic’ write-ups too. For example:

Original write-up: “Worked on slide deck presentation and basic data input using Excel for consulting firm.”

Following the 5 steps, the results were still quite impressive. See screenshot below.

Although Chatgpt is not perfect and can’t beat a human touch (e.g., 1-on-1 career coaching), this method can still level up your game.
