A question we’ve been getting a lot lately — “What TalentGeist teaches seems very helpful….but if we all do what you tell us, wouldn’t we all have the same resume / interview answers / networking outreach messages?” 🤔
Fair question :).
But here’s the honest truth. Based on our experiences coaching thousands of candidates across Singapore, Hong Kong, and the US, ~2% of those we teach are actually motivated enough to take it all the way.
For the majority of you reading, the highest ROI thing you can do for your career today is simply to…….take action. No matter how small. For example, have you already:
….made these tweaks to your resume?
….improved your response to the most important interview question?
….or heck, even just ask ChatGPT to do the heavy lifting for you?
None of these will be a magic pill to success, but even if they elevate your chances of succeeding in your career by just 5%, when extrapolated over dozens or hundreds of job applications, will get you very far. I promise.
As a career mentor/coach, I (along with my other colleagues at TalentGeist) also am much more energized by mentees who take action. Imagine if you’re the mentor and you’re giving career advice to a mentee……but they end up doing nothing you tell them. Or you end up having to repeat yourself over and over again. Would you still be motivated to give it your 100%? 🙂
